Allan C. Carlson, Ph.D., is President Emeritus of the Howard Center for Family, Religion and Society and founder and longtime International Secretary of the World Congress of Families. He is also editor of The Natural Family: An International Journal of Research and Policy.

Dr. Carlson's academic work focuses on the family as a social institution, addressing the underlying causes of population decline, the effects of taxation and regulation on family well-being, and historical efforts to implement a family wage in the United States.

His career has included serving as Assistant Director of the Governmental Affairs Office for the Lutheran Council in the U.S.A., NEH Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, Executive Vice President of The Rockford Institute, and Member of the National Commission on Children.

In 1997, he co-founded the Howard Center for Family, Religion and Society, a research and advocacy organization focused on strengthening the natural family. He has authored numerous articles and books on family policy, demographics, and social institutions.
