Biography
“For God has not only made us out of nothing; but He gave us freely, by the Grace of the Word, a life in correspondence with God.” [1] Today we honor Saint Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria in 4th century. Athanasius was incredibly bright, becoming a theological advisor at the Council of Nicea when he was still in his late twenties. He was ardent in opposing Arianism and defending the divinity of the Son of Man. Athanasius wrote many works on the Incarnation and the Trinity as well as The Life of Anthony, which helped define and foster both monastic living and the writing of saints’ lives.
